Ranbir Kapoor is summoned for smoking in public place in Rajasthan.
It seems that the residents of Rajasthan are taking the Bollywood stars to task. After taking Shahrukh Khan to court for smoking in a Sawai Maan Singh stadium in the state during an IPL cricket match, people have now put Ranbir Kapoor in difficulty for smoking on the sets of his film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, which was being shot in Rajasthan.
Similar to what happened in the case of Shahrukh, the court had to take action after a local resident; this time around one named Harish Vaishnav lodged a complaint against Ranbir for smoking at public place in Rajasthan. The complaint against the actor was lodged after his pictures were shown in the vernacular newspapers, magazine and Television channels, where he was smoking during the shooting of the film, which was held in certain part of the state.
The legal provisions in Rajasthan prohibit smoking in public places in the state and a person violating this law apart from paying a fine also has to go behind bars for this crime.
Shahrukh Khan already had a case pending before a court in the state after police officer from Jaipur visited his house in Mumbai and served him a notice to do so. It seems that with Ranbir getting caught for smoking in public place in Rajasthan, he may also have to face similar legal action against him.
Harendra Singh who is incharge, Ghanta Ghar police station told media, “A copy of the summons reached us on Saturday evening. He is being booked for violation of Section 5 of Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act. Our personnel will visit the actor in Mumbai next week to hand over the summons to him.”
First Shahrukh and now Ranbir summoned for smoking in public places in Rajasthan, we may soon see a situation where, Bollywood stars, may avoid going to Rajasthan altogether.
