Congress Demands A Ban On Shanghai Song

It seems that the song from Shanghai, Bharat Mata Ki Jai, which has rather hard hitting lyrics, has not gone too well with the political parties of the country. After the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena, now the Mumbai Congress has objected to the song saying the song not only degrades the country but is against the patriotic sentiment, which all Indians have in them.

The vice president of the Mumbai Congress, Charan Singh Sapra is so upset with the song that he has even lodged an official complaint against the song with the Union information and broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni saying that the song is an insult to all Indian, who love and respect their motherland.

According to Sapra, the song contains words like Sarkari Hathiyaar, Dhandha, Chanda, Dengue, Malaria, Gobar (cowdung) which are derogatory and defames our country.

The Mumbai Congress expressed shock that such language was used by the lyric writer of the song despite knowing that it was in bad taste and would hurt the sentiments of the people.

Sapra also alleged that the song had the capacity to disrupt communal harmony in the country and even hurt the country’s image across the globe.

The vice president of the Mumbai Congress said that the lyric writer and the makers of the film should be held accountable for their act and the ministry should take immediate steps to ban the song and remove it from the film.

Certainly, the song has very hard hitting lyrics, which you cannot ignore. Moreover, the way it is shot and its music makes it a pappy song, which you start singing naturally. The lyrics of the song are in bad taste and highlight India in bad light, but if whatever it says is true even in one remote village of India, shouldn’t it be brought to focus.
