Vidya Balan collected her first Best Actress National Award for The Dirty Picture today from Vice President Hamid Ansari.
Vidya wore a rose pink kanjeevaram sari for the occassion. She kept her hair neatly tied in a bun. Diamonds chandelier earrings completed her look.
Vidya’s boyfriend, Siddharth Roy Kapoor was also present at the ceremony to collect the Best Children’s Film award for Chillar Party on behalf of producers UTV Motion Pictures.
Among other winners, actor Sanjay Suri and director Onir received the Best Hindi Film prize for I AM, and Marathi actor Girish Kulkarni was this year’s Best Actor for Deool.
The ceremony was hosted by actors Vinay Pathak and Saumya Tandon. The event witnessed performances by Anand Bhate, who won the best playback singer (male) title for ‘Balgandharva’ and Roopa Ganguly, who won the same award in the female category for the Bengali film ‘Abosheyshey’.
Bollywood composer Amit Trivedi and lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya also took to the stage to perform ‘Agar zindagi’, for which the latter won the best lyricist trophy. The song is from the movie ‘I Am’.
