Star Cast of Dangerous Ishq : Karishma Kapoor, Rajneesh Duggal, Divya Dutta, Jimmy Shergill, Ruslaan Mumtaz
Director: Vikram Bhatt
Producer: Arun Rangachari
Music Director: Himesh Reshammiya
Dangerous Ishq is another film by Vikram Bhatt that is based on the concept of past life. It basically talks of Past Life Regression, which is a way to visit your past life through meditation or hypnosis. In the film, the lead female character attempts to unravel, through Past Life Regression, the mystery adjoining her past lives.
The main story plot of Dangerous Ishq, though not being something new and fresh, is attractive because Indian audiences can relate to it. And since it is a film directed by Vikram Bhatt, you can also expect some interesting and thrilling moments in it.
Dangerous Ishq is a story of Sanjana [Karisma Kapoor] and Rohan [Rajneish Duggal], who are a very popular couple in their own circle. While Rohan is a son of a very big businessman, Sanjana is a model. Sanjana gets a modelling assignment in Paris but she says No to it because she does not want to stay away from her man for long and she also apprehends that something is about to go wrong in her life. Her instinct that something is about to go wrong in her life comes true when Rohan gets kidnapped. While the kidnappers demand huge amount of money to release Rohan, Sanjana sees vision of her past life. Sanjana then uses those visions to find her lost love.
Apart from an interesting basic storyline, the screenplay of Dangerous Ishq has many interesting moments to keep the viewer hooked. It was a challenge for the director to shift between past and present in the film. The shift between past and present is so well filmed by the director that it never confuses the audience. In fact the first hour of the film is perfect.
But then the second hour of Dangerous Ishq is so long that the audiences cannot bear it. Even otherwise, it seems that after the interval, the director has not been able to treat the film properly. Though there are some good scenes even in the second hour, the screenplay over here has been written very badly. The portions of the film showcasing Meerabai (Gracy Singh) and the part which zeros on the person who kidnaps Rohan are highly boring. The conclusion of the film is in a typical Bollywood movie style, which is also stale and is not able to attract the viewer.
Some of the technical work in Dangerous Ishq is superb. The technical team has ensured that it creates, captures and shows each era in a proper manner. The music and dialogue of the film are good but there is still nothing special about them.
Over the years, Karisma Kapoor has improved as an actor. Dangerous Ishq also has moments, which show her capabilities and skills in this field. Yet, this won’t be a memorable film of Karisma because her role did not give her much scope to showcase her proper acting talent.
Among the remaining star cast, Jimmy Shergill, Divya Dutta and Ravi Kishan give impressive performances in Dangerous Ishq. Rajniesh Duggal, who is the hero of the film along with other actors like Ruslaan Mumtaz, Aarya Babbar and Samir Kochhar have done justice to whatever small roles they got in the film. Gracy Singh on the other hand fails to leave an impact with her role.
Karisma and Vikram Bhatt was a good team. They could have given a better film than Dangerous Ishq.
