Aamir Khan speaks, everyone listens. This must be why Star Plus has agreed to telecast Aamir's Satyamev Jayate every Sunday to talk about serious issues that plague our society.
Sridevi made a rare appearance on Television, when she was seen on Aamir Khan’s Television show Satyamev Jayate cheering and making happy Harish Aiyer, whose story was highlighted on the show. A leading English daily wrote, “When he said that Sridevi was his favourite actress, Aamir organised for Sridevi to be on the show, and Harish was more than happy about the arrangement. Sridevi chatted with him once the show was over, and Harish hasn’t been more thrilled ever since.”
Harish Aiyer was discussing the trauma of being abused sexually by a close relative when he was still a child on Aamir Khan’s show, Satyamev Jayate. Harish Aiyeralso told about his defense mechanism. Harish Aiye’s dog and superstar Sridevi’s films helped him to bear the trauma of sexual abuse.
In fact, if Harish is to be believed, along with his dog, the Bollywood actress from down South was a great source of strength to him during his difficult times. Harish had said, “Watching Sridevi’s films gave me the courage to raise my voice against the exploitation that I went through for 11 years.”
After Harish disclosed that he is a fan of Sridevi, the team of Aamir Khan’s show Satyamev Jayate contacted one of the biggest actresses of her time and she agreed to make a special appearance on the show. Speaking on the occasion, Sridevi told Harish, “I am glad that my films gave you strength in your times of difficulties. You have shared your past with us and this will encourage all those who are going something similar. That makes you a real hero.”
Harish Aiyer also narrated the meeting with his inspiration, Sridevi. He said, “…What about the Sridevi surprise? “Well, when I was being readied for the show, I noticed this gorgeous sari being wheeled around and actually asked a volunteer who the sari was for. I was only met with disapproving mumbles about someone random. There was a reference being made to this person several times and much later I realized that this was a code name for Sridevi. I still smile when I think of all the efforts the team went through to keep the surprise genuine for me.”
Sridevi also extended support to Aamir Khan’s show.
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan came to the rescue of around 114 farmers in Maharashtra’s Wardha district, when he repaid their debt of about Rs 30 Lacs in total.
