Filmmaker Karan Johar‘s Student of The Year is planned to hit the cinemas Oct 19 this year. Co-produced by Johar’s Dharma Productions and Shah Rukh Khan‘s Red Chillies Entertainment, the movie will launch three new faces in Bollywood. Alia, who is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, David Dhawan‘s son Varun, as well as model-turned-actor Siddharth Malhotra – in leading roles.
It is the first instant in which Johar is doing work together with an all-new cast and is said to be thrilled about doing work together with the brand new bunch of stars, simply because this reminds him of his early days or so in the industry.
“Karan’s been shooting in Bangkok during the past several weeks right now and he’s expected to come back sometime in the initial week of May. He’s incredibly excited to work with a number of newbies and had been speaking regarding their young energetic vibe, reminding him of his own days as a newcomer,” a source said.
Johar’s previous directorial venture was ‘My Name Is Khan’ in 2010.
